Family
Meet Ralph Miller, WWII veteran and founder of the legacy. After the war he and his brother were butchers in NY. Then, in the 1950's they moved to Detroit, Michigan and started a realty company (MillerBros Realty). They were among the first to break racial barriers with a mostly minority sales staff. Over time the company success led them to 20 offices with 160 staff.
And this is where the families love of sports and community began to shape the future.

Gordon Miller
Years later Ralph’s son Gordon Miller stepped into home lending. For 30 years in North Carolina his voice has been on AM and FM radio simplifying the complexities of mortgage finance in a way that has benefited tens of thousands of customers. He was the first mortgage lender to offer the No Closing Cost loan which has been the foundational product for Miller Lending over all these years.
You’ve also seen his face in the stands at Carolina Hurricanes, Duke Basketball, Durham Bulls, NC State and UNC Football and on the sidelines coaching youth soccer.
Fun fact. Who was the last starting pitcher in the Durham Bulls stadium before it was transformed into a AAA stadium? Gordon Miller in 1997 pitched 7 innings in the Roy Hobbs league.

Daniel & Justin Miller
In 2023 Gordon stepped into an advisory role and turned over daily operations to his sons Justin and Daniel (both Michigan State alum) who now continue the Miller family tradition in the mortgage and real estate industries.

Sports
Back in the 1950s, Miller Brothers Realty set up in Detroit, MI. Passionate basketball fans, the Millers’ was a house divided, with most being proud Spartans, but Gordon Miller a diehard Wolverine.
Later, life’s journey brought the family to another historic basketball rivalry, North Carolina. Since 1987 our Miller Lending team has lived, worked and played in the Triangle, NC.
And today we’re also avid supporters of Duke men’s & women’s basketball, the Durham Bulls, and the Carolina Hurricanes. We’ve even hired alumni athletes from NC State and UNC…
